According to the CIA, Bert has fled to Cambodja after the Korean War. Here's the evidence that he really spent some time there.
This picture is taken just before a speech by Pol Pot in wich he wanted to declare Bert to be his favorite general. In the nic of time Bert slipped Pol a mickey to silence him. Unfortunately he couldn't prevent the photographer taking his picture.
